American Typewriter Typeface

In the making of my Typography 101 project, I came to fall in love with the American Typewriter typeface. To me, this typeface says, “Anything Typography.” Since it was the first way that people can type something. I especially like it bold. A very good font for a headline.

I Love Typography

Instead of giving us a book to read, my Typography teacher gave us a blog to read. It’s the “I Love Typography.” It is very interesting and thought I should allow you to read it too. It really breaks down this odd subject in a fun way. Go ahead and check it out!

Typography 101

My second project in Graphic Design 2 was Typography 101. The project was essentially have us learn a little about Typography and how to layout text. I had a hard time choosing a layout that I liked, since I wanted to do well on this project. Here is what I turned in.

Homage Poster 2/2

Here is the final product of my homage poster to Herbert Bayer. Ill let you figure out which of his works that I used from my previous post. I used the same colors from his paintings, but not all of them to simplify the poster. Herbert created a typeface in his time, so for my headline, I used his font. The computer didn’t have his the typeface so I had to make it the letters. The text I just copied from the Internet. The project was dune in Illustrator. I think it turned out well. I like it!

Homage Poster 1/2

My first assignment in my Graphic Design 2 class was to create a homage poster (any size) for a famous Graphic Designer. I looked at the list and choose Herbert Bayer. I mostly found paintings that he did and liked them, they where filled with colors of the rainbows. Which I have a liking for those colors and when there put together. Here are some of his works that I used for inspiration.

Introducing Second Semester

Now I am in my second semester at College of DuPage. I am taking Graphic Design 2, Typography, as well as a speech class. Here I will be talking about my Graphic Design 2 and my Typography class.

The End of Graphic Design 1

Now that is the end of my first semester in college. I will have to admit, it was a frustrating class, but I walk out with one project to finish, another to redo, and one for my portfolio.
